Game Rules
These are the most basic rules for everyone to have a safe and fun event. Above all rules Danish laws still apply. By participating in the event all players agree to follow the game rules. All participation in the game is at your own risk, make sure you are properly insured.
These rules have no brain – please use your own
Every situation can’t possibly be covered by the rules. If such a situation occurs – think and act per safety and common sense. Try to create fun moments together with other players without someone getting hurt.
Safety
● Safety glasses and facemask shall be always worn by everyone on the field.
● All events are drug/alcohol free. This means you can’t be under influence whilst playing.
● All fires, BBQs or any use of fire, smoke grenades etc. is your own responsibility and any damage thereafter will be at your own expense. Due to earlier incidents no campfires are allowed unless they are in a fire barrel or grill and completely safe. Tinfoil “One use grills” is not allowed for campfires but OK for cooking while under surveillance. If there is a fire somewhere report this to crew so it can be kept under surveillance, even if you manage to put the fire out.
● The event requires the use of 6mm degradable bio bullets.
● During 02:00 – 09:00 there is “game off” in the bases, FAD, village and living areas. This is so players can rest and get some sleep/food to keep up the pace during “game on” and not risk injury due to lack of rest and bad judgement. The rest of the area has game on at between game start and end.
It’s strictly forbidden to:
● Shoot at drones,, helicopters or any other flying object that might be present at the game.
● Shoot at players inside or just leaving a respawn area.
”GAME OFF!”
During the game this is a safety phrase. It’s meant for when there has been a real-life injury or a high risk for a serious injury to occur. If someone shouts “GAME OFF!”, it shall be repeated by everyone hearing it. This is not meant for rules discussions, ghosting or such alike and only for safety reasons.
Crew is divided into two groups: Organizers and Crew. What these say is considered above the rules and directives from Crew must be followed by participants. Crew is marked by yellow vests and organizers by blue vests. Organizers have final say in all matters.
Safezone
The areas defined as safe zones means there shall be no game in, in to, from or across the border to this area. Here you shall carry your weapons unloaded and with the safety on to prevent accidents.
Death-rags
Shall be made of orange cloth and be at least 30x30cm for hits in daylight and red beacon/light are used as death-rags for hits in the night fight. When a player are dead or needs to be off-game for some reason the death-rag shall be worn visible. If a player chooses to go off-game for some reason that player then needs to visit a respawn to continue playing.
Armbands
You Team- specific armband with a your Ticketnumber must be worn visible on your right arm at all time. This rule applies to everyone except for recons. They may choose to wear their armband on there right leg instead if they wich.
Note! The armband needs to be at least 8 cm high, and must be clearly visible (not coveret with dirt, ghillie ect.
Event bracelets
An event-specific bracelet will be placed around your left wrist when you check-in. This is your proof of having a valid ticket. No band – no valid ticket. This must be worn for the entirety of the event and shown to crew upon request. If it breaks or falls of – bring it straight to crew in main the main safezone for a replacement.
In-game items
All in-game items for game purposes are marked with a symbol. If this states “larp only” or “airsoft only” only players of those factions can pick it up, move it, sell it etc. Some in-game items will have rules for that specific item written on them. A player may only pick up or carry three items with this symbol on them at the time without handing them in for rewards unless a rules card handed by crew says otherwise.
Markings will look like these examples:

All Players can use this item.
Only LARP Players can use this item.
In-game tents
All tents inside the game area (not the off-game camps or off-zone…) are considered in-game unless they are marked with a visible death-rag/flag.
FAD (Fuel and ammo depot)
You will be able to make a great deal of damage to your enemy’s support and tactics by sneaking in and sabotaging their Fuel and Ammo depot that will be located in close proximity to their base. The FAD is
placed close to the base as a target for base attacks, to add a valuable target for attacking the enemy base. If you find this point it will be marked by ammo boxes and a sign.
Destroy the FAD by capturing it, push the button (same as on CPs) and hold for 30 mins, then push the button again. The Fuel and Ammo depot can only be destroyed during 09:00 and 01:00, it will be off game at the same time as the base. From 01:00 to 09:00 you cannot go closer than 100m to an enemy FAD and base.
Combat
These are the rules for combat. This type of game is based on an honest behavior from all players in order to be fun. Play fair and call your hits! One hit and you’re down. Being reported for not taking hits might also get you banned.
Rules of engagement!
One of most important rules in this game is rules of engagement on civilians. The rules apply to all fractions.
- ● You have the right to use force to defend yourself against attacks or threats of attack.
- ● If you are attacked by unarmed hostiles elements, mobs and/or rioters you should use the minimum force necessary under the circumstance and proportional to the threat.
- ● Detention of civilians is authorized for security reasons or in self-defense.
Note! Be aware that some missions may overrule the rules of engagement, only then is it allowed not to follow the rules of engagement. In other cases, it may result in a ban.
Hit!
If hit by a bullet (ricochet or not), or a LARP weapon means that you are hit. Shout “Hit!” and lay down on the ground for 10 minutes. These 10 minutes are called bleed-out. You are not allowed to talk or do anything now besides say or shout “MEDIC!”. Mark this by taking out your death-rag and putting it so everyone can see it. No death-rag – risk of more incoming fire. After 10 minutes you are considered dead. You then must move and respawn to continue playing. Still – no talking, dead people tell no tales. The only way to be saved is by a medic during bleed-out (see rules for Medics). If you already have a bandage from being healed, you die without bleed-out and must respawn. No 2nd chances left. When you are arrived and inside a respawn, it is allowed to marked you as a dead player in the Ares Alpha app. No other communication to in-game players are allowed before you are respawned.
If you stand up with your death rag you have to move straight to respawn.
- No walking about.
- No talking.
In short:
● DON’T take cover behind players in bleed out.
● DON’T talk while in bleed out.
● DO wear your death-rag upon being hit.
● DO take your hits.
● IF DEAD; go straight to respawn, no loitering or standing about to watch the fight.
Night fighting
When fighting during the night (dark hours) you are required to bring a flashlight in case of an emergency. If you are hit you have to bring a red deathrag-beacon/flashlight to signal that you are dead without lighting up others or your surroundings, especially not the enemy. Playing at night is done at your own risk.
Sportsmanship rule:
Instead of shooting a player really close to you, you can shoot in front of their feet and say “BANG!”. They are then hit as usual, but you didn’t risk causing unnecessary harm. The “BANG!” rule only apply when closer than 6 meters of an enemy and have a clear site with you gun. You can only call out one player at the time with the “BANG!” rule, you cannot just say “BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!” and then kill four enemies with this rule.
Knife kill
When you wish to kill a player silently you touch their shoulder and say “knife kill”. That player is then instantly killed, are not allowed to shout “Hit!” and must directly to respawn.
NOTE! It’s strictly forbidden to use real knifes (Weapons) to make a knife kill, this will get you instantly banned for the game!
Knock out
When you wish to silence a player but not kill them you touch their shoulder and say “knock out”. That player is then placed in knocked-out state for 5 minutes. After that the player “wakes up” and remembers nothing of those 10 minutes or the moments before it.
Medics
Medics have to be marked with a medic patch and that must be worn visible on the left shoulder. A Medic players can heal a player in bleed-out, one player at a time. To do so the medic sits down next to the player in bleed-out and starts counting to 60 out loud (aka one minute, not as fast as possible). During this time the medic ties a bandage around the wounded players right arm or leg. When this is done the player is healed for now and can continue playing. Being hit again however means you are dead with no bleed-out. Medics can move a player in bleed-out but must do so with muscular force (carry, drag etc). Running up to a player in bleed-out touching them and running away together is not allowed. All players in the ER are counted as medics and can heal players.
A medic patch needs to be red and white, so it is visible and have a diameter on at least 7 cm. it is not allowed to hide the medic patch with dirt or ghillie. You can see the official medic patch below, but it is also allowed to make or bring your own.

Engineer
Engineers must be marked with a special patch that must be worn visible on the left shoulder. They have special abilities explained below. Anytime an engineer is disrupted during these activities (might have to shoot, run away, end up in bleed-out) the timer is reset, and they will have to start all over again with what they are doing.
Repair vehicles
An engineer can repair a vehicle that has been shot to pieces (Yes, they are THAT good!) It takes 30 minutes to do so and the engineer needs to stand by the front of the vehicle and cannot do anything else. For each additional engineer helping to repair the vehicle, the repair time is reduced by 10 minutes. However, a maximum of 3 engineers can work on a vehicle at the same time.
Place or disarm and remove mines
An engineer is the only player who can place or remove mines. Minefields may be created by either side engineers at any time and any location without needing pre-approval. Placing mines takes 60 seconds for each mine, only engineers can place them by putting them open and visible on the ground. The engineer must hold their hand on the mine for 60 seconds before moving on to the next. Engineers may cooperate and place one mine each. Mines may not be hidden, buried or covered in any way, and must be visible to drivers.
Engineers may defuse dynamic minefields at any time. This is done by engineers keeping one hand on the mine for 2 minutes. Only one mine per engineer can be cleared at one time (Cannot have one hand each on two mines), and only one engineer can work on one mine at a time. (2 engineers on one mine will still require 2 minutes).
Repair other things Engineers can repair almost anything with almost anything. On certain items or places, it will be stated what is needed for repair of that specific item. Just follow the instructions for that specific item/place.
An Engineer patch needs to be marked with a tool, and have a diameter on at least 7 cm The patch need to be visible. it is not allowed to hide the medic patch with dirt or ghillie. You can see the official medic patch below, but it is also allowed to make or bring your own.must

Respawn
When a player’s bleed-out timer runs out or if hit whilst having a bandage from former healing then that player must go to a respawn point and respawn. At the respawn point players will be respawned every 30min at full or half hours (10:00, 10:30, 11:00 etc.). Respawn areas are located around the map, you may respawn at owned capture points, bases and other areas marked with a respawn sign. It is strictly forbidden to fire into or out of a respawn area or do any kind of siege at a enemy respawn. Weapons must be on safe inside the respawn and protection equipment must be used at all times.
Certain VIPs, LARPs & officers (coy commanders or above) will have a double-length respawn time (Respawns only whole hours).
You can respawn anywhere in your base as long as it is not under attack. (Enemy forces shooting inside base or at base) If your base is under attack you respawn in a dedicated area marked outside your base.
Prisoners
Its allowed to take prisoners during the game. Rule of thumb is that you can’t be taken as a prisoner for more than one hour but if it’s a mutual agreement it might be for longer. You may not physically lock up any prisoners in any way or use handcuffs, tie them etc. Just tell them the “room is locked” or “you are now tied up” and they may not escape.
Disarming and confiscating
If a person is arrested or taken prisoner, their weapon will be confiscated. This is symbolized by making the weapon safe and tying a section of barrier red / orange tape round the barrel or body. The weapon and its accessories are retained by the owner, who carries it slung if possible.
If the prisoner approves, others may carry the weapon: it should always be within the prisoner’s sight. If the prisoner escapes or is released, they may not use their weapon until five minutes later. It is not allowed to take an enemy weapon to use. A prisoner cannot use knife kills but knockouts may still be used.
Looting and robbing
If both players are willing to LARP, go ahead and search the captive. If any player gets uncomfortable, say “Offgame”. Both parts must immediately stop and back off.
If you do not want to LARP, clearly say to the captive: “You are hereby searched.“ The captive MUST comply and can not use any (hidden) weapon against his captors. Any hidden in-game materials like maps and codes etc MUST be handed over to the captors.
All electronic devices are considered encrypted and cannot be accessed, the prisoner can not be made to open the phone/GPS or any other electronic device.
Command structure
During Operation Javelin games most players will be playing in teams and groups using a command structure. This means that you and your friends will play a part in bigger groups called a “Platoon” and “Company”. The smallest unit is called a squad which consists of 6-10 players. You will choose a squad-leader and a secondary squad leader. The squad leader will have leaders above him passing down information and missions during the game. It is important that you listen and follow the orders and directions from your squad leader or platoon commander. Most missions during the game will be platoon sized. As soon as you arrive at your “Base-area” make sure your squad leader reports your presence to your “platoon commander”.
Going rouge or mutiny
Going rouge means ignoring missions and orders and just going around looking for airsoft fights on the map instead of helping your team, following orders and respecting your commander. If you have chosen to play in a airsoft game that has a military structure, you must follow your platoon or company commander’s instructions and orders.
Note! Going rouge or ignoring the platoon commanders order to run out on your own missions can lead to you get a warning or get banned.
Officer markings
In order to help friendly players in recognizing their officers and facilitate the inclusion of engaging missions for adversaries, we've implemented a compulsory officer marking system. This system will be distributed to all officers ranging from Lieutenant to General. Additionally, Squadleaders have the option to create their own patches featuring the Sergeant symbol or purchase the Sergeant markings through our website.
This is the officer markings:
The marking must be worn either the left arm or chest, it will have a velcro-side. The marking must be olive green and measure 10cm in width and 6cm in height. Your officer marking must be worn consistently. It's strictly prohibited to steal, borrow, or use an officer patch unless you hold the corresponding rank. However, acquiring a rank marking from a captured enemy officer, ranging from Lieutenant to General, is permitted. All officer patches must be returned to Check-in at the main safe-zone after the game ends.
Weapons and magazines
At Operation Javelin games there will be a mandatory chroning at check in. Please get all your guns to the check-in before the game. Also, chroning will be done randomly under the game and if we suspect cheating or as a result of player complaints. If the suspicion arises about cheating with the allowed chrono limits you are required to hand your weapon over by crew for a field chrono if demanded. The failure to do so or by cheating will result in an instant ban.
It is every player’s responsibility to follow the rules, and make sure that their guns are chroned according to the appropriate gun classes. When chroning the weapon use your own BB’s with the max weight you intend to use during the game.
Lasers
No lasers sights or laser pointers are allowed according to Danish law. Any use will instantly get you removed from the event.
Ballistic Shields
Its allowed to use ballistic shields, but the shield need to have a weight on at least 6kg. The user of the shield may only walk (not run) and are only allowed to use pistols, when carrying the shield.
40mm Grenades
Only 40mm grenades firing a burst of 6mm BBs at once, are allowed. No other projectile versions are to be used. Airsoft Innovation Mike and Master Mike is not allowed. In order to be hit by this weapon you need to be hit by any of the BBs like a normal airsoft weapon.
Hand Grenades
Tornado, Storm and similar types of grenades are allowed in the game. CO2 grenades like Soundflash and similar are also allowed but be careful when using these types of grenades. Only grenade with BBs can be deadly. Outsite buildings you need to be hit by a BB, but inside buildings everyone within 3 x 3 meters, which is not behind a solid cover will automatic get hit. Solid cover are things like walls, sandbags etc..
NOTE! Sound grenades like Soundflash may not be thrown directly at players.
Smoke Grenades
Only smoke grenades from Enola Gaye are allowed in the game. Pyro is used at YOUR own risk, YOU are responsible for your own grenades and any fire or damage they may cause so be careful! If you notice that your pyro grenade has set something on fire, immediately call “GAME OFF” and try to extinguish it and if needed contact Crew.
Drones & UAVS
It’s allowed for players to use drones or UAVS during the game for reconnaissance, do not fire BBs on drones & UAVs.
Note! You must always follow Danish drone legislation.
Field Hospitals
Field hospitals are mobile respawn points that can be set up by engineers in the field. A field hospital may not be placed closer to a base/village than 300m and no closer than 100m from the edge of the game area.
A field hospital is a 3 x 3 m white tent, and have to be put correct up before it can be used. If a field hospital needs to be moved, it must be packed down first. It is not allowed to move the field hospital while the tent is pitched.
Radio communication
Each fraction will have their own “safe” frequency plus its sub-channels. It’s forbidden to eavesdrop to other faction frequencies. Besides this it’s up to the own team to set up a communications solution as they see fit.
Language in LARP
We use words as “IN”, “OFF”, “Relax” and ”Game off/on”. Do not abuse them since they partly exists for safety reasons.
IN – When you are in character and among other players.
OFF – This is for when you are not in character or have to ask someone something you are not sure about.
Relax – If you want to calm down the in game situation without disrupting the game use this phrase. For example it might be used in unpleasant situations like torture and such.
Game off – It’s meant for when there has been a real life injury or a high risk for a serious injury to occur. If someone shouts this it shall be repeated by everyone hearing it and call off whatever you are doing.
Game on – If there has been a pause in the game for security reasons and the situation have been dealt with, call out this phrase to announce that the game will continue again. Everyone hearing this shall repeat it.
In-game money
During the game there will be an in-game currency. This item can be looted, stolen, traded with or used to buy certain things. You need to carry all your money on your person and if someone loots or robs you, you must give it all away.
Vehicles Safety
● Only the owners of a vehicle might drive it unless the owner and temporary driver have agreed to such.
● Vehicles may not be left blocking the road on the game area without the driver being present and able to move it in case of an accident and someone needs to pass by.
● On the game area you are supposed to use “low enough speed” in other words the speed needed in order, to avoid accidents but not more than 30km/h. This to avoid accidents if someone suddenly appears on the road.
● All Vehicles must stay on roads, its not allowed to drive offroad.
● You may not open doors to vehicles you do not own or play in cooperation with. You may not open doors on cars that are moving.
● If the vehicle needs to be used “off-game” it should have its warning lights on and if possible death-rags out of the windows.
● These must be marked by a flag or marker on both sides and on the hood which is at least 30 x 30 cm with the corresponding team color.
Use of vehicles in combat
● It’s allowed to shoot into cars with doors or windows open or if they are open-topped. On the contrary It is only permitted to shoot out of windows if they are fully open. If this is not the case, then the rider needs to step out of the vehicle and stand with both its feet on the ground outside the vehicle in order to shoot. It’s OK to use the doors as protection as long as you stand outside the car.
● It’s strictly prohibited to throw grenades in or out of cars. This might cause serious injury if something goes wrong.
Vehicle classes:
There are two major classes of vehicles on the game as described below. Both work in different ways.
Light vehicles
Your everyday car, pickups, bicycle, motorcycle, ATV, or anything not made to withstand a military grade round from small arms fire. Light vehicles hit by a hail of bullets (~3sec automatic hail on windows or such) are damaged. Light vehicles are instant destroyed if it runs over a mine. see rules below on vehicle states.
Armored vehicles
All armored cars or trucks are in this category! These vehicles are lined, armored, or strengthened to withstand certain amounts of small arms fire. Armored vehicles will not take fatal damage from small arms fire but a hail of bullets (~3sec automatic hail on windows or such) will cause chaos and confusion as being fired upon is never a fun thing which results in it having to stop for 10 seconds before it can drive out of the “killzone”. Killzone means that specific gunfight, if they leave it and run into a new one 100m later they must stop again.
A armored vehicle can only be damaged by a mine or destroyed by an AT-weapon. see rules below on vehicle states
Vehicle States
A vehicle can be in any of three states: Undamaged, Damaged, or destroyed.
● Undamaged vehicles might operate as normal. It’s the default state of a vehicle.
● A damaged vehicle may not continue to move unless it gets repaired by an engineer. Players must exit the car within 20 seconds or are counted as dead due to fire and other hazards. They might stay in the car but that means voluntarily dying and needing to go to respawn. If the driver does not wish to stay and try to repair the vehicle it can decide that it’s destroyed and head back to the city/base and respawn in accordance to vehicle respawn rules below.
● A destroyed vehicle may not continue to move. The vehicle has been destroyed and everyone in it has been killed.
Vehicle Respawn
A destroyed vehicle must go directly to their base with warning lights on and if possible death-rags out of the windows. When arriving in base your vehicle have to stay there for 60 minutes before it can enter the game again.
Vehicle Turrets
Vehicles may be armed with turrets, frontal plates and mounted weapons. The MINIMUM conditions required for all of them is that the gunner shall be exposed (not protected) from the back and sides (270 degrees) and from the belly and up (bellybutton!). No remote turrets are allowed for safety reasons, there must be a gunner.
